Jaz Robbins, Psy.D., BCHN®

Dr. Jaz earned her doctorate and master's degrees in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. She received her bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Nutrition from North Carolina State University. Dr. Jaz is also Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition® by the Holistic Nutrition Credentialing Board.

Dr. Jaz is a trauma therapist who has gained a wealth of experience serving traditionally underserved communities. While working at Loved Ones Victims Services, she provided individual and group therapy to clients who had lost a loved one to homicide. While at BAART Programs, she counseled clients suffering from opiate dependency, many of whom were also experiencing housing insecurity.

Dr. Jaz worked with similar clients during her tenure at the Union Rescue Mission located within Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles. Some of her most challenging, yet most rewarding work to date took place during her time at CBT California. While there, she provided therapy services to individuals diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. Dr. Jaz has also proudly provided assessment and therapy services to Veterans through the West Los Angeles VA. Additionally, she completed her APA-accredited internship within the university counseling center at California State University, Long Beach. In addition to incorporating expressive arts interventions into her work, she enjoys using person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy when working with clients.

Dr. Jaz’s research interests center around complex trauma, as well as the intersection of nutrition and mental health. She is the author of two titles, an adjunct professor, a performing artist, founder of The Active Experience®, and the CEO of Healing, Hope & Love, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit. She is an artist who enjoys working with other artists, and she is dedicated to making messages of healing and growth available to as many as possible.
